Most Days I'm Just Thankful

Advent Devotional Reading from Matthew & Luke

Readers, a few weeks ago, I invited you to join me in an Advent Challenge. Here's an excerpt from that article:

This year I’m committing to doing my Advent devotionals in my Journaling Bible. Each day, I’ll read a portion of the Christmas story. Words familiar to most of us. Then, I'll jot down my thoughts. But before I do either of these things, I’m going to pray: Lord, show me something new today. A fresh truth. Make this story come alive to me. Amen.

I hope some of you have decided to join me on this spiritual journey leading up to Christmas. You don't have to purchase a Journaling Bible. Just find some blank pages of paper and read the assigned verses each day. No more. No less. I want us to really focus on the words from just a few verses. Imagine the feelings of the characters mentioned. Consider the culture and how unusual this event would have been. Reflect on what there is to apply to your own life.

At home, I'll be doing the same thing each day. Head over to my Facebook page and let's discuss our findings.

Let's advent together.
